The US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton and US Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates have given a warning signal to the behind-the-scene talks that are taking place by the Turkish officials. They are worried since the NATO summits are going to take place on November 19, where a final decision on the missile defense plan is going to be made.

In a statement given to The Daily Telegraph, a senior US official said that it was essential that the missile-defense plan of Turkey goes through an acid test.

The program was made to protect the European population from any kind of nuclear-armed missiles from Iran. The West is worried that the Arabian state is going to have missiles some times in the coming years.

One of the main elements of this is the radar stations and advanced interceptor missiles, which can detect missiles and can also shoot them when needed.

Turkey, as a nation, is very critical to the project because of its strategic positioning. It is key to be able to detect any Iranian missile launched, that take place.
