India & Malaysia join hands on CECA

Mohd-Najib-Tun-Abdul-Razak-Manmohan-SinghWith a view to look for new impetus for the better relations among India and Malaysia, both the countries have recently signed the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA), which is the formal announcement for boosting trade within the two parties.

It is to be mentioned here that the two sides have signed close to five pacts among themselves and the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Malaysian counterpart Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak has resolved to impart strategic direction in the relations of the two countries.

The two leaders said that it will allow free movement of good along the two borders and will be really helpful in taking the relations among the two countries to new levels.

It may be noted here that the agreement will come into effect from the 1st of July next year. Dr. Singh said during the press conference that the day has marked a new turning point in the journey of the India Malaysia relations. Both the countries also launched a CEO forum which is expected to make the relations among the two countries even deeper in the coming times.
