Sesa Goa plans to build steel plants in OrissaThe company said that Vedanta Group firm Sesa Goa is scheduling a deal of over Rs 30,000 crore in the steel space in Orissa and Jharkhand. It may tie in a global company in cooperation to run the ventures.

The company has written to the Orissa government for transferring a MoU noticed with Vedanta group firm Sterlite Industries to their name as anything in iron ore and steel space in the group. And this will be taking on by Sesa Goa. The MoU is intended for a five million-tonne plant in Orissa.

Sesa Goa Managing Director, P K Mukherjee told PTI that in the same way, they are looking to entire land acquisition for a 1-1.5 million tones steel plant in Jharkhand by the end of this financial. For steel plants, they will enter into technical collaboration.

However, he did not disclose that when the company has decided to begin the venture. He said that in Orissa project the investment is estimated up to Rs 25,000 crore whereas the Jharkhand scheme could cost up to Rs 7,500 crore.
