Haryana Government will soon be providing a health insurance cover to people living Below Poverty Line.
The state government has proclaimed health insurance cover to 5.47 lakh BPL families in the state according to a statement an official spokesman.
The offering was given to families falling under Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana during the previous financial year and beneficiaries of the scheme who made use of the medical aids worth Rs 22.16 crore during that year.
Currently featuring under the scheme are the BPL families who were offered free healthcare insurance cover nearly Rs 30,000 per annum on floater basis for at least five members present in a family.
This move makes Haryana the first state in the nation to expand its scope of RSBY to offer medical cover for registered buildings and other construction workers and their families via the Health Insurance Plan (HIP).
To feature more citizens under the scheme, a through data of rickshaw pullers and street vendors were pulled in order to provide to health insurance cover to all.
