On Tuesday, Mr. B. Ramalinga Raju was interrogated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for two hours. In the multi-crore Satyam fraud case, he is the prime accused. The hospital discharged Mr. B. Ramalinga Raju, the former disgraced Chairman and founder of Satyam Computer Services Limited, on Saturday.
Before 10 am, he reached at the CBI's regional office and left the office after noon. On the grounds of bad health, the appearance in the court has been avoided by Mr. B. Ramalinga Raju.
After one year, this is the first interrogation of the Raju, by the CBI.
For last 10 months, Mr. Raju was being treated for hepatitis C at Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS). On Aug 18, Andhra Pradesh High Court granted bail to Mr. Raju. When the bail was granted, a condition was also laid down to ensure the co-operation of Mr. Raju in the investigation and appearance at office, whenever summoned by the CBI.
The interrogation of Mr. Raju was related to the doubts about some issues regarding the scam of Rs. 14,000 crore. They asked some more questions regarding the diverted Satyam funds abroad also.
