RCMP’s video on neighbourhood drug labs

drug labsCiting an example of drug trade that constantly worry B. C. residents, seizing 200,000 Ecstasy tablets this week by the RCMP that were hidden in a truck in Chilliwack, it was stated that on residential streets Too many of the clandestine labs that make meth and Ecstasy are found.

A video that aims at educating the public about the risks that take place due to the illicit operation is a part of their answer.

Sgt. Doug Culver, the RCMP’s National Synthetic Drug Co-ordinator said, “With labs tucked into neighbourhoods, an entire community is put at risk. The flammable solvents, acids and other poisonous and caustic chemicals used pose a risk of fire or explosion, and the criminality and violence that accompanies these labs is suddenly present on a once-quiet street.”

The RCMP’s Drug Branch produced a 15-minute video called ‘Clandestine Drug Labs in Your Neighbourhood’.

Police says that the video has interviews of young people who have had major impact on their lives by the drugs they produce and the deplorable conditions within these labs.
