Tuesday saw President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, touring tourism projects on Saadiyat and Yas islands and Al Raha Beach in Abu Dhabi, with the aim of viewing the infrastructural progress of the areas.
The inspection tour was carried out by the President in company with General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The tour started from the Abu Dhabi Corniche, and progressed towards the Saadiyat Island through the Saadiyat-Abu Dhabi Bridge, passing by new bridges and modern roads that link tourist islands to Abu Dhabi and Al Ain to help ease the flow of traffic.
The Yas Island was also visited by the President, with the motive of examining tourism projects, following which, contentment was expressed by him regarding with the development and the work progress on these important projects which are being developed to provide the proper foundation ground for commercial and industrial activities in the country in the best interest of UAE citizens.
He expressed: "These projects would contribute to the building of sophisticated infrastructure that encourages the tourist activity in the country."
The efforts made to develop Saadiyat Island were praised by Shaikh Khalifa. Saadiyat Island is expected to come out as a multi-faceted island destination, offering a wide range of attractions, including a relaxed waterfront, a bussing business hub for international commerce and a cultural magnet for arts and a destination experience of rich depth and diversity.
Shaikh Khalifa expressed: "The implementation of development projects, including property and tourism, is in line with the UAE's strategic strategy aiming to diversify economic activities in its quest to become a regional and international investment and tourism hub."
