As soon as flu vaccines will be available this fall, it has been recommended by the Center for Disease Control that everyone six months and older should get a flu vaccine.
Three different flu viruses namely, an influenza B virus, an H3N2 virus and the H1N1 virus will be kept away by providing protection against these three by 2010-2011 vaccine.
It's not unusual for new flu virus strains to appear because flu viruses are constantly changing.
Homer Rice, Ph. D, with the Leon Co Health Department says, "We can't cover every possible permutation of the virus, in other words there are many different type of flu viruses. We're giving you a shot that will protect you against the major ones.”
He added that these are actually the most common ones and the possibility of getting a different form of flu is always there.
It has been decided that every year three most common flu will be included in the vaccine for that year and this isn't the first time and it wont be the last the CDC will change the strands in the common flu vaccine.
Research has shown that people who do not get the H1N1 vaccine will have to face adverse effects.
