Apple has selected Target for releasing its most awaited i-Pad tablet similarly few days ago there was a rumor that Internet giant has teamed up with electronics retailer Best Buy to sell its Kindle eReader device.
A source reveals that Apple's touch screen i-Pad will appear on Target's shelves by October 3 and will be available at six different prices. From the 16GB Wi-Fi model to the upper tier 64GB 3G model (mirroring Apple Store prices), the price will be ranged between $499 USD to $829 USD.
It is anticipated that i-Pad will reach Target PDA through the retailer's 'Digital Audio' department in the coming weeks. The sources also reveals that Digital Audio will be available where Target sells Amazon's kindle.
Apple's i-Pad is primarily a portable computer and can also be used as an eReader. Competitors of Apple like Amazon and Barnes & Noble have tried to keep their prices lower than i-Pad and also try to maintain distance from i-Pad in recent weeks.
As earlier promised by Apple, that its hot-selling device in the long run would be available via a select group of third-party retailers will come out to be true, if this time target releases its device in October.
As for now, no official statement has been issued by either Target or Apple regarding the release of i-Pad.
