It has been informed that the price of food in the country may come down in the month of March in next year.
Economic Advisory Council to Prime Minister Chairman, Mr. C. Rangarajan has informed that he is quite confident that the food inflation will come down soon and the food prices will come down in coming six months of time. He has said that the food inflation will come down to single digit soon.
The expected figure is 6 per cent by the month of March, 2011 which is in double digit at the current period of time. He has anticipated that the food prices will decline by the third month of the coming year.
Mr. Rangarajan has informed this fact while he was delivering a talk on ‘The current economic scene and policy options' to the media. This event was organized at College of Defence Management. He has also said that the agriculture production of the country is expected to go up at 4% if the monsoon will be proper this year.
