Google eyes mobile search market in India

mobileAccording to a senior Google official working to keep Google search ahead of others, India will soon lead the mobile search market and thus the company is working on innovations to provide the services of the future.

Amit Singhal, who rewrote the company’s ranking algorithm written by the legendary duo of Sergey Brin and Larry Page, has said that the search engines of tomorrow will provide information even before the users searches for it.

He said that the company is ahead of others search engines and is working hard to become better as the expectations of the people rise. The experiment helps the company develop innovation and new solutions as the search is becoming more complex.

As for the mobile market, he expressed that the Mobile phones clearly outnumber the number of PCs are will drive the future for search. India is uniquely poised to lead the world is mobile search due to some factors like it is the fastest growing markets in terms of mobile phone subscriber base and with the rolling out of 3G services the smartphones devices could become the preferred way to use the internet.

He also pointed out theta some of the solutions developed for one country can now to taken to a lot of other countries such as Google Mapmaker tool which allow users to put marks for their landmarks on Google Maps which was developed in India is now available in more than hundred countries.

Singhal has also spoken about the Google voice search and technologies enabling users to input an audio or video snippet and a search engine which can recognize it.
