Google introduces Doodle to mark buckyball's 25th anniversary

buckyballInternet giant, Google has introduced an interactive Google Doodle on its homepage to mark the 25th anniversary of the carbon molecule structure, buckyball  

The official log of the company is replaced by an interactive animated buckyball doodle for the day. A buckyball or fullerene is fully composed of carbon atoms and was discovered in 1985 and was named after buckminsterfullerene.

The buckyball appears in place of ‘O’ on Google’s home page. The buckyball twitches and turns when the user takes the mouse on its. If a user clicks on the buckyball doodle the google search provides more information about it.

The discovery of buckyball increased understanding in areas such as chemistry and technological applications in material sciences, electronics and nanotechnologies.
