At a New York hospital a nurse was reunited with her father who she had not seen in years as her parents had got separated when she was young.

41-year-old Wanda Rodriguez works as a head nurse at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. It was during her usual shift when she heard a doctor telling someone over the phone about a new patient who had just come in to the hospital.

The name stated by the doctor over the phone was Victor Peraza and it sounded familiar to Wanda.

She said that she thought it was her father’s name and stood there still for a moment.

She said, "I thought if he's my complexion, if he has green eyes, he could be my dad. I go in and I look at him and he looks right at me. He's dark and he has light eyes. I thought. Oh my god, I think this is him."

She asked Victor if he was comfortable and asked if he had kids. It was then that Victor told Wanda that she has two daughters and one of them was Wanda.

She told him that she was his daughter and there came an instant reply, “I know that.”
