Coroner’s report investigates that Ex-Policeman death was stoppable

Ex Policeman deathAn investigation conducted by Coroner William Bryden established that Ex-Policeman death was stoppable.

Harry Coxell , undergone exercise stress test in November 2006 , after being admitted in the Blacktown Hospital in Sydney, the day before suffering chest pains, where he was reported dead.

The coroner found that Coxell died of the aortic dissection due to hypertension from the stress test which had to be stopped. He also said that if Coxell would have diagnosed earlier or if operated and was not put to exercise stress test then he would have survived.

As a result of this sudden death, Mr. Bryden has assessed the hospital’s modus operandi for acute chest pains and also asked hospitals not to conduct any kind of exercise stress on patients suffering from chest pains.

Coroner's recommendations have pleased Mr Coxell's widow, Lynette Kay.

She also said that, our family is happy with coroner’s decision and Mr. Coxell was a great person.

Still it is not clear that when health department would start implementing these recommendations.
