Two biotech firms of Scotland have merged under a deal to target the emerging biotech markets of the world. The Aberdeen based Grampian BioConsultants have merged with another biotech company ImmunoSolv of Edinburgh to work combined with their expertise in immuno-technology and immunology.
The companies are hoping that the combination will allow both of the companies to exploit their potential in the global markets. The newly formed combined company will retain the name of ImmunoSolv.
The biotechnology firm has already planned to grab funding from the Scottish Enterprise and from its existing investor Grampian BioPartners.
The biotech firm has said its dead cell removal technology will help the firm to sustain in the markets as the technology has so much demand in the market. The company is also targeting the antibody based therapeutics for the treatment of inflammation and cancer.
In the month of April 2007, the company ImmunoSolv has started its trading. Andy Porter, The co-founder of Grampian BioConsultants (GBC) feels that the Scottish biotech industry have a huge potential and it can ample amount of inflow for the country.
