High speed train to be tested in the Channel Tunnel

High speed train to be tested in the Channel TunnelThe German rail operator Deutsche Bahn has announced that it is going to test a high speed train in the Channel Tunnel on around 19th October in between Britain and France.

Now the railway firm Eurostar is only allowed to operate trains on the route but this move from Deutsche Bahn could encourage other train operators to run trains on the route and this move could widen the competition in the railways.

Eurostar is owned by the railways in the France, Belgium and UK, which run the services in their own territory. The German railway has tried repeatedly to access its operation in the Channel Tunnel.

The most profitable route for the high speed trains could be in between the financial centers of Frankfurt and London. Recently the German firm Deutsche Bahn has completed its takeover of the firm Arriva of Britain. Arriva operates trains and busses across 12 European countries and the deal was finalized with 1.8 billion euros. Deutsche Bahn is a well known rail operator in Germany but now it wants to spread its business across the Europe.
