Microsoft has pronounced to increase the price tag of Xbox Live Gold subscription from November in both US and UK.
It supposedly is marked as the better part of the deal in case of UK, where the cost of a month-to-month renewal subscription will be increased from £4.99 to £5.99, which means the price of a full year’s online play and miscellaneous other goodies will stick to £39.99.
In US the monthly membership charge has been raised from $7.99 to $9.99, and the annual fee has been raised from $49.99 to $59.99 and this seems to be a cheaper offering when it is converted in to GBP.
The step has been taken in order to cover the maintenance charges that have risen above inflation and on the other hand the PlayStation Network with its free to get online multiplayer games on PS3 has increased the competition.
However, annual subscribers won’t be affected by this phenomenon.
