Infineon sees no pressure to buy after selling Intel WirelessInfineon Technologies AG has said that it is under pressure to make purchases in its basic operations that remain after agreeing to sell its wireless operations of Intel Corp. Infineon CEO Peter Bauer said the acquisitions are part of the German semiconductor strategy to strengthen its remaining assets.

But he added good prospects for organic growth and believes that current valuations on high-potential acquisition targets and sell its wireless unit of Intel for 1.4 billion U. S. dollars in an operation as fair to both parties.

Besides wireless Infineon produces logic chips used in automobiles, machinery and security solutions. The largest semiconductor company of the world to invest in wireless operations expands the existing customer including mobile phone manufacturers like Nokia and Samsung.
