Dell has announced the launch of its first smartphone based on Google’s Android platform in the US named “Dell Aero” with many advanced features.
The Dell Aero has a 3.5-inch screen with a resolution of 640 by 360 pixels. The clear screens show sharp text and colorful and bright pictures. The phone also has a five megapixel camera.
Dell Aero has no controls on the face which gives it a clear and plain look and it has appealing glossy plastic finishing. It has navigation buttons on the sides and it has power / screen lock button on the left above the Home / Back button. On the right hand side there are volume controls and an “option” button also called Menu button.
The sound quality on the device is good with load speakers and good quality receivers. The Speakerphone conversations are load and clear and the ringertones are also easily heard.
The company claims that Dell Aero is the lightest smartphones on the market weighting just 104 grams. The phone offers easy access to social networking sites with inbuilt features like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube apps.
Dell first entered the smarphone market in 2009 with the release of its Mini 3 in China. The company ahs algigned it self to the Android platform and according to some reports the Android based devices are expected to surpass iPhones in market share by 2012.
The 1000 mAh battery offers extended battery life and the phone also features a miniUSB port and supports expendable memory with microSD slot. The Dell Aero will be available in the US with $100 on the AT&T mobile network.
