In Sussex 10,000 smokers quit in a year

SmokingReports have stated that in the last 12 months over 10,000 smokers across Sussex have given up the habit of smoking, which is a major problem in many countries around the world.

There has been a sharp rise in people who are using NHS stop smoking services around the county for leaving smoking.

According to recent reports, in Brighton and Hove, about 2,308 people gave up smoking in 2009 and 2010, in West Sussex 4,487 left the habit and 3,342 in East Sussex were able to give up smoking completely.

As compared to the last year there was a rise reported at all areas in the number of people who left smoking this year.

On behalf of the city's primary care trust, Brighton and Hove's stop smoking services are provided by South Downs Health NHS Trust.

A success rate of about 64 per cent was reported by this service and this was the highest in the country.

It is indeed commendable for the county to achieve this as the whole world is trying hard to combat a habit called smoking and even minors are in the clutches of this habit.
