Google patches Gmail bugInternet giant, Google has release a patch for a bug in its email service, Gmail, that caused some of the user accounts to resend email messages multiple times. The bug was reported by the company on Thursday and said to affect about 2.5 per cent of the users.

Google had posted a warning on the Google App Status Dashboard and few hours later resolved the problem for the users. The users wrote complaints on the Gmail Help forum about the problem from a few days. The user noticed that email sent to non Gmail users were resent multiple times.

Google's tech support staff wrote, "The problem with Google Mail should be resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better."

Meanwhile, Google has introduces a new “Calls from Gmail” service to Gmail allowing users call to any phone number straight from their inbox and speak through a microphone and a headset. The call to other countries will be priced at very low rates.

The new voice calling will only to available to the customers in the US and the users will have to download and install Voice and Video plug-in. Google is also offering free calls to U. S. nationals to the U. S. and Canada till the year.

Gmail already features voice and video chat that allows users to chat with each other however this feature will also allow external calls. Experts were expecting a service of this kind from the company since it acquired a VoIP company Gizmo 5 last year.
