Medicare simplifies program, millions to accept change

Medicare simplifies program, millions to accept change An independent analysis done by leading researchers at Avalere Health, a research firm that does work for private and government clients has stated that Medicare drug plans will have to be taken by about three million seniors next year and that too against their wish.

This will happen due to an attempt being made by Medicare for simplifying picking prescription coverage for consumers.

There are seniors who do not wish to make a change this fall during Medicare’s open enrollment and for these seniors this could be an unwelcome surprise.

President Barack Obama had promised that if people like their health plans then they can keep it but this step risks undercutting President’s promise.

Avalere Health also estimated that as an attempt to winnow down duplicative coverage and offer consumers meaningful choices by Medicare, more than three million seniors will see their prescription plans eliminated.

In Wisconsin there will be lesser effect due to the change as through Senior Care, over 89,000 people receive coverage, which is the state prescription drug program.
