Nikon introduces new digital SLR camera, D3100Photography major, Nikon has introduces a new entry level DX-format digital SLR camera named ‘Nikon D3100’ with a host of new advanced features fro high quality performance.

The D3100 comes with a resolution of 14.2 megapixel and offers Nikon’s own CMOS image sensor along with a new image-processing engine called EXPEED 2 allowing users to capture and display high quality pictures. The Guide mode in the camera allows users to take picture as they like.

Nikon will also offer a AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens kit with the camera. A usual concerns relating to DSLR cameras is that the controls are hard to master. However, Nikon aims to address these concerns by offering the D3000 with a Guide mode.

The Guide mode makes the camera easy to operate as it shows instructions for shooting, image playback and editing along the application of camera settings on the camera screen. An earlier model, Nikon D3000 was launched with the Guide last year and is very popular among the users.

The camera also comes with a live view where users can frame images in the monitor and D-Movie function will deliver support for high-definition movie recording. As for storage, the camera will have support for SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card slot. Despite the heavy features the camera has a relatively lightweight body.

The camera is expected to be available by September and will be priced at around $699.
