Australian firm Bwin has seen loss in second quarterThe online gaming company of Australia Bwin has seen a net loss in the second quarter of this year due to the marketing costs for its launch in France and FIFA World Cup.

The marketing costs rose up by 31% but the FIFA World Cup had boosted the revenues up by 33.7%.

The Australian gaming firm faced a loss of 2.8 million euros in the second quarter of this year compared to a profit of 100,000 euros in the same time period of last year.

Bwin has also declared about the merger deal with the company Partygaming which is expected to be completed early in next year. In last month both the companies Partygaming and Bwin declared about the plans to merge by a deal to make the largest online gaming business of the world.

Bwin has started its business operations in France in June and said that the company was affected by the start up costs and new preparations of the business in a new country. It also stated about its loss because of the FIFA World Cup as people opted for the foot ball world cup despite of playing games online.
