Solar diesel power station is erected at Pilbara region of Western Australia. This one is the world's first solar diesel plant which has been opened at Marble Bar. Marble Bar is a place well known for recording high temperatures.
Today Mr. Norman Moore (WA's Mines and Petroleum Minister) opened the Pippunyah Solar Diesel Power Station. This station uses the huge sun tracking solar panel farm located in Australia to get powered.
Minister Norman Moore praised the place Marble Bar, he said Marble Bar is well known for many reasons, like it has recorded maximum temperatures for successive days and also has the old rock whose age is almost 3 billion years.
And now he was proud to address that Marble bar has the world first solar diesel power station.
The power station is expected to generate 1048 megawatt hours of solar energy and using solar power it will give us 65 per cent of daytime energy demand. There is a reason for choosing the name Pippunyah for the power station. Pippunyah is the river which runs under the power station.
