Microsoft has proclaimed the date of release for its beta version of its Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) web browser as 15 September. PC world states that the Redmond-based software Biggie has sent out invitations the chosen software developers, web designers and several important media people in view of releasing IE9 at the venue of Concourse Exhibition Centre in San Francisco, California.
Reports claim that the invitations were named as “Beauty of the Web”. James Pratt on the Windows Team blog posted: “To RSVP, they have to complete a word puzzle by typing the letters shown on the screen: Unlock the _ _ _ _ _ _ web. The letters they have to work with are V E A N T I and the solution is a single word.”
He added that once the riddle is finished the RSVP button appears so they can RSVP for the event.
The Register claims that IE9 will be Microsoft’s most standard-compatible web browser that will offer support for HTML5, Web Open Font Format at the same time for embedded fonts, Google's WebM video codec and the closed H. 264 codec.
