Problematic adults affect parents’ health

Adult-kidsA new research has suggested that even after some kids grow up, they remain problematic adults and they keep giving grief to their parents.

This can have a negative impact on the health of their parents. And this happens despite other kids are successful.

There was a program conducted that was based o social relationships and well-being in which 633 parents and their 1,251 adult children were included.

co-author Kira Birditt, a research assistant professor at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, said, "If you think your kid is a problem, it's going to make you unhappy."

It was found that there can be a negative impact on behaviours, emotional and physical health of parents who have troublesome children even when they become adults. A new study that was based on middle-aged parents with an average age of 50 for the parents and 25 for the kids and this study stated this.

And this happened to those parents also who had successful kids but due to one troublesome child they had problems and their well-being was affected.

Burditt said, "If you have an argument that makes you unhappy the day of. And if you avoid arguing, it makes you unhappy the next day. So it's kind of like 'When do you want to feel upset? Avoidance basically has a lingering effect and arguments don't."
