The trade deficit of UK had narrowed more than expected in the month of June boosted by a sharp rise in the exports compared to the previous month.
According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the trade deficit on services and goods fell down to 3.3 billion euros in June compared to 3.8 billion euros of the previous month of May. The goods deficit was at 7.4 billion euros compared to 8 billion euros of previous month because of a 900 million euros rise in the exports.
But the according to the experts, the exports are not expected to boost the UK economic growth in the upcoming months.
They have said that, it was not the time to get happy about the narrowed deficit as it would rise again. This narrowing in the deficit was very surprising in the June after a sharp widening in the deficit of May.
But this could not affect the huge fiscal squeeze on the customers and the domestic economy of the country. According to Alan Clarke of BNP Paribas, this improvement in the deficit and the economic improvement in Germany could help and boost the export sector of UK.
