Roxon, Dutton have a heated argument

Roxon, Dutton have a heated argumentHealth Minister Nicola Roxon and her shadow Peter Dutton had a heated argument in which the government's reform package was defended by Roxon. She stated that the misuse of health funds will be avoided and transparency will be there.

To this Peter Dutton stated that the present government was not capable of managing its affairs well.

The Coalition for opposing the My Hospitals website which would compare hospital performance was also attacked by Roxon.

Roxon said, "A crucial part of the agreement reached with the states and territories is much, much stricter performance reporting, accountability, making sure that when we put our 60 per cent of money into a fund that they put their
40 per cent in and it only be spent on health.”

She further added that funds that should be allocated to health being moved anywhere else will be avoided by this.

The relationship between the states and the Commonwealth is changed by the COAG agreement and it would be ensured that this does not happen again.

Dutton accused the government of not being able to deliver its promise and said that the government was too slow in rolling out its GP super clinics.
