Study: Men seem more attractive to women when they wear redAccording to a recent study, women find men more attractive when they are dressed in red clothes. Researchers found that women seem to pay more attention to men who wear red.

Lead author Andrew Elliot, a professor of psychology at the University of Rochester, said in a university news release, "We found that women view men in red as higher in status, more likely to make money and more likely to climb the social ladder, and it's this high-status judgment that leads to the attraction."

Elliot and his colleagues questioned 288 female and 25 male undergraduates to look at pictures of men whose shirts were digitally colored either red or another color. It was seen that women were more drawn to pictures of men wearing red shirts because they thought that red made men look more powerful, attractive and sexually desirable. Though, it did not make him look kinder, likeable or more social.

The effect was consistent in women from United States, England, Germany and China. However, the women were not aware of the reaction.
