As a solution to the Antennagate issue in new iPhone 4 from Apple, the Cupertino based technology giant has offered a free case for the device to all its users until the company finds a more permanent solution.
Anyone buying a new iPhone 4 will get a free cover or Bumper as it is called. Those who already own the iPhone 4 will have to go into the App Store and find the iPhone 4 Case Program App and install it onto their device. All users are promised a Bumper or a 3rd party approved case by company CEO, Steve jobs.
“If you are experiencing reception issues with your iPhone4, you are eligible to receive an iPhone 4 Bumper or other select third-party case from Apple at no charge. Download this free app onto your iPhone 4 and apply for your free Bumper or case,” reads the description of the free app.
When the app is downloaded and installed onto the device it checks for the IMEI and serial number to verify if the device is an iPhone 4. After the app confirms the device the user can choose iPhone 4 Bumper or other case. The company then ships the bumper or case free of charge to the customer.
The purchases must be until September 30, 2010 to be able to enroll in the program. The users who bought their device before July 23, 2010 should apply until August 22, 2010 pr within 30days of purchasing the device.
Apple Bumper, Belkin Shield Micra, Griffin Motif Diamond, Griffin Reveal Etch Black, Incase Snap Case Black, Incase Snap Case Clear, Speck Fitted Case Black, Speck PixelSkin HD Black are the cases available for the customers.
