A new study has stated that women find men who are ‘macho’ more attractive as compared to men who are modest and metrosexual.
Modesty and men's feminine side is a big turn-off for women, researchers found.
It was stated in earlier findings that men who were masculine and stereotypes were not something that women liked. Researchers wanted to figure out if these beliefs were true and if ‘liberating men from the bonds of traditional masculinity would be beneficial’.
About 132 women were involved in a study and it also included about 100 men. It was observed that modesty was perceived as something that would prove as a hindrance to men being able to earn and getting employed.
A 15-minute video of job interviews of male and female actors was shown to all the participants. Women did not like men who were modest but men liked women who were modest.
It was stressed by researchers that the study was conducted to see how sexes perceive each other and not about a man’s modesty being linked to his employment chances.
