Women loses newborn at GMH-16

newborn indiaLax attitude of the staff at GMH-16 has led to a woman losing her newborn.

Bulbul lost her baby after she and her husband Chotu Ram kept shuttling from one counter to another for getting a blood test done for delivery. A CCTV footage has been handed over to the police by the medical for investigation.

Sources who were present at the site stated that the baby died within seconds after falling on the floor. According to the footage, within a few minutes the OPD card was made but there was a 15-minute delay during which the woman's husband, a rickshaw puller, kept shuttling between the enquiry counter and OPD.

Medical superintendent Rajeev Wadhwera said, "We have asked the staff and an eyewitness regarding this wastage of time. We need the statements of Bulbul and Chotu Ram, to fill in the gaps."

The OPD card counter was reached by the couple after 30 seconds and they were there for a minute. In the footage it is seen that the couple was advised by someone to visit the OPD and the patient comes out of the room within two minutes.

There was a gap when the couple was not seen for two minutes.

Bulbul was seen walking in and out of the OPD as there was no wheelchair or trolley and then she enter the laboratory where she delivered her child and lost her baby immediately after the birth.
