Microsoft, that had a plan to bring together gamers from PC world and those who use Gaming console Xbox 360 have decided to drop the project, according to some reports floating around the tech world.
Rahul Sood, Founder of Voodoo PC and CTO of HP's gaming biz and sparked rumors that the software giant has dropped the project to bring PC and console gamers together under its LIVE multiplayer brand.
"This was all part of their Live strategy, and had Microsoft just stuck to their guns and made it work PC Gaming might be in a much better position than it is today," wrote Sood.
Microsoft discovered that in the competition of keyboard and mouse against console gamepad, the PC users had greater power and control and can easily defeat those on the console and thus decided to drop the plan well before it was developed.
The company found that the computing system had complete supremacy over console during its trail fights between PC gamers and Xbox owners.
“The console players got destroyed every time. So much so that it would be embarrassing to the Xbox team in general had Microsoft launched this initiative,” he said.
