Crude oil futures fall on global cues

crude_oil.The prices of crude oil prices came down by Rs. 26 and settled at Rs. 3,692 per barrel yesterday in a futures trading, as the traders decreased their holdings on the preset of a weakening global trend.

The sentiment of the traders became heavy as the prices of oil hit bumpers in Asian trade due to the surge in the U.S. crude reserves and the preference of the U.S. dollar over other international currencies.

The price of crude oil came down for the far-month October at the Multi Commodity Exchange, by Rs. 26 to Rs. 3,692 per barrel, which is a reduction by 0.70 per cent. It had an open interest of 143 lots.

In a similar manner, the price of oil for delivery for the month of August came down by Rs 11 to Rs 3,563 per barrel in 43 lots, which is a reduction by 0.31 per cent.

Due to the weakening global sentiment, traders are reducing their levels, as such the prices of crude oil are coming down in the futures market.
