Cancer concern for IVF kids

Cancer concern for IVF kidsPeople feared IVF or in vitro fertilization when it was introduced about more than 30 years ago that there might be genetic disorders and several health problems in children who were conceived using IVF. Experts state that there is no problem in using IVF but certain studies have once again instilled fears after stating that a possibility of birth defects among kids remain who are born suing this technique.

It's clear that IVF is very safe.

The worst, studies have stated that cancer might occur among children born using IVF.

Earlier studies done to establish a link between IVF and cancer could not be successful but one of the largest studies on this topic has been able to find something substantial.

Data from 26,692 children who worn born after IVF during 1982 through 2005 was examined by Swedish researchers. If normal rates of cancer in the general population was taken then the possible cases of cancer would have been 38 but 53 cases of cancer were found.

A possibility of birth defects like cleft palates and heart defects is there among children born using IVF, as per previous studies researchers last month presented data that stated that in a large group of children born using IVF there were higher chances of autism as compared with children conceived naturally.

The authors stated that it should be stressed that the individual risk for a child who is born after IVF to develop childhood cancer is low.
