Cricketer Shahid Afridi has decided to quit playing for test cricket on the team’s tour to England.
However, not many people have been pleased with his decision, as this will add to the woes of Pakistan cricket, which has been facing turbulent times for quite some time now.
Many cricket greats like Imran Khan and Amir Sohail have expressed their displeasure over Afridi’s decision.
Aamir Sohail, who had captained the Pakistani side earlier, disclosed that Afridi should have carried on with the responsibility.
Former Cricketer, Imran Khan, revealed from London that Pakistan Cricket Board is already facing tough times and it required an experienced cricketer like Afridi to guide the young batch of cricketers.
He said that Afridi should have accepted the challenge of captaincy and continued to play for the country.
Pakistan had reportedly lost the first test against Australia in a four game series and Afridi’s decision had come after this.
Pakistan has churned out some great cricketers earlier and the team was very strong at one point of time.
The greatest players of all times have been Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram and Imran Khan.
Also, the country has witnessed many controversies over the years as its players have been accused of tampering with the ball, match fixing and many other offences.
