Apart from just running, Race For Life can be fun too. A Cancer Research Fund Raising Day, at the Bentley Centre, on Stratton Road, is being organized by Franki Stockwell. Franki is 36 yeas old and comes from Edinburgh Street, Gorse Hill.

Franki will be a part of the event scheduled on July 24 at Lydiard Park. But before that you can get various ways to pamper yourself like holistic treatments by Franki as she is qualified in body massage, apart from this there would be other attractions like Indian hand and head massages, bric-a-ball stalls, beauty make-overs, heavenly henna tattoos, a bouncy castle, arts and crafts, a martial arts demonstration and taster workshop.

Franki said, “Lots of people are doing things and giving up their time. This is something I can do and give to all those people who live day in day out with cancer and in honour of my family who I have lost to cancer, to let people know Swindon is a caring community.”

She added that everytime she raises money, which was about £125 for cancer research last year, she feels that someday there might come advanced ways to cure cancer.
