Microsoft has pronounced of offering a support for Windows XP users who are severely affected by a critical vulnerability that associates with a bug in the Windows Help and Support Centre, and has first been reported by Google engineer Tavis Ormandy.
Ormandy was later questioned by the security community for publicly releasing the exploit code; prior to Microsoft's release of the patch.
It was reported through an official report that Microsoft has urged Windows XP users to run the Microsoft Fix it tool that helps disable the Help centre, until Microsoft officially claims the release of the patch.
Microsoft said that they are truly involved into working with the partners in Microsoft Active Protections Program (MAPP) that provides information to offer broader protections to customers.
Microsoft will do take care to help protect customer rights and shall help offer security update through our monthly release process or providing an out-of-cycle security update.
Meanwhile, the company reports that the hackers had rooted out bug in 10,000 PCs worldwide with attacks focused on Russia and Portugal. It also has been reported that the United States, Germany and Brazil were also hit big time in this regard.
