There were 15 more confirmed cases of swine flu in the city of Mumbai. This has taken the total number of swine flu cases to 100 for the month of June. Health experts are not concerned by this and point that this has been possible due to better monitoring by medical establishments.
On the other hand, experts feel that these cases should not intimidate the people as it is already known that swine flu virus and its symptoms are present in the air.
A study was also initiated by the National Institute of Virology in Pune last year in the month of December. It wanted to identify the presence of the virus in people, who are healthy and do not show any symptoms of being affected from the virus. In the study, most of the samples were taken from Pune, while few of them were taken from Mumbai also.
The study revealed that while 30% of the healthy people had already developed anti-bodies to counter the H1N1 virus, while almost 10% of the people were suffering from symptoms like cold and fever. The other people had recovered and their immune systems had helped in overcoming the H1N1 virus.
Medical experts are closely monitoring the virus as well as its impact and also advising people to stay cautious and adopt high levels of hygiene and cleanliness.
