According to the latest company document revealed yesterday, the oil giant BP has planned to expand its deepwater offshore drilling as the major area for long term growth of the company before the oil spill happened in the Gulf of Mexico. This has been the biggest environmental disaster ever in the history of US.

Earlier BP had unveiled that the expansion of the offshore drilling would be the best way for long term growth of the firm. But that announcement was washed off by the huge oil spill and the firm is still struggling to control the oil spill. However, BP is still the global leader in the deepwater productions even its costs were considerably lower than its rivals.

Aiming to the oil giant BP, the executives of the BP's rival firms has informed that they would have taken more safeguards and analysis on the doomed deepwater horizon rig.

The battle over the decision of ban on the offshore drilling is still on process as the biggest business lobby of the country stepped up its campaign to force the Obama Administration to end the six-month ban on drilling new wells in the Gulf of Mexico.
