Indian Medical Association Disapproves Clinical Establishment Bill

IMCA press conference has been organized by the Indian Medical Association on Tuesday, continuing with their disapproval against the Clinical Establishment Bill.

Members of Indian Medical Association referred to the regulations passed in Jammu and Kashmir as their guidelines, while protesting against the bill.

Well-known names of the medical organizations as well as media people attended the conference.

Dr. Nirotam Diwan, President IMA, Ludhiana spoke to the audience while indicating the faults of the proposed bill and simultaneously, underlining the contributions of Allopathic system of medicine.

The sections of the bill are disagreeable and undesirable as the doctors are already regulated by laws like Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act and Biomedical Waste laws and Consumer Protection Act.

The authority given to the Chief Medical Executive would be autocracy, where the doctor would not even be proficient to protect himself against the accusations.

The Doctors’ Day will be seen as Black Day on July 1 because doctors will go on march from Gumar Mandi to show their disapproval for the Clinical Establishment Bill. Indian Medical Association (IMA), Ludhiana, took this decision.

Association says that the decision taken by the Government is one sided, as it has completely ignored the troubles of medical fraternity. The members shared that it will result in remarkable increase in the fee of treatment due to expenses required to complete the provisions of the Bill.
