Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar will promote a no-drugs campaign for the Narcotics Control Bureau, which is going to start on Saturday.
The campaign is especially organized for the people between the age group of 18 to 30 and it will feature the star cricketer advising people to think about their health not about drugs.
“Tendulkar is a youth icon; he epitomises health and fitness, which is the theme of our campaign. He has agreed to be part of the campaign and accordingly, his posters with anti-drug messages will be put up across the city”, said, NCB zonal director Yashodhan Wanage.
The campaign will follow the United Nations declaration that directed anti-drug enforcement groups across the world to observe and endorse June 26 as the International Day against Drug Abuse.
According to Wanage, youngsters are the easiest targets of for psychotropic substances. The reasons behind the inclination for drugs have been different like peer pressure, lifestyle, or bad influence. It is very important to control the threat of drug addiction at a very young age.
