With the monsoons approaching, the state Governments have been raising concerns over another round of swine flu hitting the regions.
The fears of the return of the disease loom large over parts of south India and Maharashtra as the humidity levels are too high there, providing breeding grounds to the swine flu virus.
Already, 23 cases of the disease have been confirmed in Kerala, couples with the 10 in Maharashtra.
Gujarat health and Family Welfare Minister, Jaynarayan Vyas, told that the health officials have been warned and they are monitoring any signs of the infection in the state.
Karnataka, Maharashtra and Kerala are the most highly affected states, identified so far. These states have witnessed a large number of deaths and H1N1 infections.
Vyas said the state is keeping the conditions in the above three states in mind and preparing itself against the disease.
The disease has been affecting many in the hospitals. A number of pregnant women have been suffering the H1N1 infection.
“People must be alert. If they continue to have symptoms of pneumonia and cough, the patient should be immediately brought to a designated swine flu centre”, said the doctors.
The hospital secretary has called a conference with the staff to train them with the required measures against the virus infection.
