Security firms take days together to fix malware issuesReports from the recent researches performed by the NSS labs states that security firms will take an average of 92.48 hours to tackle the malware threats faced by users every day on the internet.

It was through analyzing security software a complete understanding of the study was offered by the 10 most popular internet security software makers.

The objective of the study was to estimate the speed of response given out by different security softwares to "socially engineered or consensual malware threats" surfacing every day.

It was further revealed by the NSS Labs that around 15,000 to 50,000 malware threats emerged on the web every day. These warnings are tackled by the individual security software vendor, who ultimately takes their time to come up with security patches to address them and often delaying in response.

It was finally concluded that efficacy of security software ranged from 35 per cent to 88.3 per cent, while average response time ranged from 4.62 hours to 92.48 hours. And vendors surveyed by NSS Labs include AVG, Kaspersky, Symantec and Trend Micro.
