University of Adelaide researchers have presented a report, which suggests that the female reproductive system tends to refute those sperms, which seem incapable of arousing pregnancy.
Lead researcher, Professor Sarah Robertson, said that the females are blessed with a unique function in the reproductive system, which checks for the capability of the sperm in complementing the energy levels in her reproductive system.
She explained that the findings have considered the fact that a majority of the women are preference oriented. The evaluations and analysis going on the in the mind of the woman regarding the suitability of the time, are somewhat responsible for the rejection of the sperm.
"Some women have higher thresholds to responding to this signaling pathway”, she said.
There might be a situation when a woman suffers greater problems with one man, which may be absent when she comes in contact with some other man.
She added that sometimes the couple may get incompatible due to the lack in the capability of the woman’s reproductive system in assessing the sperm.
Usually, the woman is held responsible for the incompatibility between the two, despite the male being equally responsible.
