Health Secretary, Nicola Sturgeon, is likely to proclaim the standards for handling hospital errors in the country, shortly.
She will kick off the drive at her visit to the St John's Hospital in Livingston, wherein she will be unveiling the procedure for using the latest equipments.
These technologies will be helpful in taming a number of infections like Clostridium difficile and MRSA. These standards have been added to the already availed measures suggested by the Scottish Government.
As per the new guidelines, each hospital built recently, shall take up single rooms for each patient, in order to avoid infections. Also, the no privatization shall be observed in the cleaning section.
The roles of the senior and experienced nurses have been revised. They are now going to be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation in the different wards.
As a result of these measures, adopted in some of the hospitals, the number of elderly patients being infected with C. diff and MRSA has reduced, over the last one year.
Jackie Baillie, Health Spokesman, said, "With the 6% decline in unexpected deaths in hospitals in the last 18 months, it is clear that more can be done".
He added that reduction in the number of nurses in the hospitals will simply worsen the conditions of the patients.
