Fire At Construction Site Costs Workers their DormitoriesAccording to the recent reports, a major fire broke out at a construction site of the Trizon at Ridgewood Close, off Holland Road.

It is believed that the blaze cost the workers their dormitories.

On Friday, the construction site for a condominium projection caught fire and it is believed that the living quarters of the workers have been completely destroyed.

Reports suggest that the fire is suspected to be started in one of the eight containers, which are similar to the ones used to transit goods. The same area also served as the dormitories of the workers.

Though, the magnitude of the fire was very large; however no was hurt, as confirmed by the reports.

All the eight containers were destroyed in the fire but the total of 41 workers escaped safely.

Following the information of the fire, which was received by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) at about 3.45pm, two fire bikes were immediately dispatched for the spot.

Also, one fire engine and two red rhinos were also rushed to the spot.

As per the information of the SCDF, the fire was controlled within 15 minutes, thereby, restricting the damage.

One of the witnesses' who lives in Montview condominium, which faces the site said, "For a while, the wind blew the flames directly into the uncompleted units, and I saw about five workers still standing there looking at the fire below. I'm not sure if they ran off after that as the smoke was too thick".
