A British woman recently told a Dubai court that she was raped by an Arab man, who first made her drink and then drove her into a desert.

The woman might have to end up in jail if her account is found to be false. She could face prison for drinking and having sex outside marriage in the strict Muslim state.

The accused Arab man, 30, on the other hand said that she said yes to sleep with him. The woman, who calls herself Lucy, stays rigid on her ground.

Lucy, who works as an executive at a trading company, said that she was raped by the man, who insisted on giving her a lift home after a night out drinking with friends at the Dubai Marina. After driving in a remote area, where she was attacked by the man, she was raped again in her own flat, where the man took her after the first encounter.

A source said, "She went straight to the nearest police station and reported the sex attack at 3.20 am the same day."

After the report, the accused, named only as Saif, was caught by the police. Later this year, date for the rape trial will be set.
