Bangladeshi expatriates, under the guidance of Ambassador Mohammad Nazm Al Quanine, rolled out an awareness campaign for diabetes which has been emerging as a major health disorder among Emirati and Bangladeshi communities.
Hosting a gathering at the Bangladesh Embassy for celebrating country's 40th Independence Day, the Ambassador Quanine expressed, "This is first time when a large number of workers has taken part in the National Day celebrations. We had invited them with the cooperation of their companies."
The Bangladesh embassy has been taking various initiatives for the workers by holding cultural and awareness programs for the expatriates. It organized a cultural evening for Bangladeshi workers in January and said that it would continue to hold such awareness campaign in future as well for motivating its nationals to do something for social cause.
Earlier, the ambassador conveyed the Bangladesh Presidents and Prime Minister's messages to the gathering and urged Bangladeshi works do put their best for the prosperity of the UAE.
Meanwhile, a reception is also scheduled tomorrow this evening in a hotel in Abu Dhabi where Bangladesh Minister for Labour and Expatriate Welfare Khandker Musharaf Hussain will be the Chief Guest.
